RunRoutes is a running app for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android. You pick a distance and it draws a loop along real streets and paths that starts and ends at your own front door.

Not knowing where to run is a quiet reason to skip a session, and running the same street every evening is a quiet reason to get bored of it. RunRoutes does the deciding, so the only thing left for you is the running.

Three taps, then run

Stand where you want to finish: your front door, the office, a car park at a trailhead. That spot becomes both the start and the end of the route, which is the whole point of a loop.

Say how far you want to go. Pick 5K or 10K, or dial in any distance you like. A loop appears in seconds with its real length shown before you commit, and if it is not your kind of route you tap again for another one.

Then start straight away, keep the route for another day, or send it on to another app. Saved routes stay in the app, so a good loop is one tap away next week.

Your wrist knows the way

Tap start and your Apple Watch takes over. It taps your wrist before every turn and at every run and walk switch, with time, pace and heart rate a glance away.

A voice in your headphones calls out each turn before you reach it and tells you when you leave the route, right through your music and even with the phone locked. No watch? The phone guides you on its own.

Take the route anywhere

Every route can leave the app as a file that nearly every running, cycling and hiking app understands, so you can run it on the watch you already own.

Built in the open

I share how RunRoutes is doing on X: the downloads, the paywall tests, the revenue and the mistakes. In October 2026 it passed 935 users and started paying for the tools I build it with.
